Santa Barbara, CA.

Today the Capps campaign is proud to announce the consequential endorsement by the current 2nd District Supervisor. Supervisor Gregg Hart, who has served the community with distinction in elected office for decades including representing the 2nd District, supports Capps as his successor. Hart has chosen not to run for reelection as he campaigns to be elected to the newly configured 37th State Assembly seat.

“I’m honored to support Laura Capps for Second District Supervisor. I know Laura to be a dedicated public servant whose values resonate with our community. Laura has the leadership skills, local knowledge and vast experience in government and the nonprofit sector to be a strong advocate for the Second District and the County of Santa Barbara.”

Supervisor Gregg Hart, 2nd District Supervisor

“Gregg and I both grew up in Santa Barbara as the children of educators and products of our local public schools. For decades, his extensive knowledge, experience, and approachable style has served this community incredibly well. He has navigated the job as 2nd District Supervisor through Covid-19 with a steady hand. I am tremendously proud to have his support as I seek to carry on his tradition of responsive public service within our county.”

— Laura Capps

This is the most recent endorsement following these previously announced supporters: Congressmember Salud Carbajal, Supervisor Joan Hartmann, Santa Barbara County Democratic Party, Board of Equalization Member Malia Cohen, Central Coast Labor Council, LiUNA Local 220, Santa Barbara County Firefighters, Former Senator Hannah Beth, District Attorney Joyce Dudley, Former Supervisors Janet Wolf, Susan Rose, Doreen Farr, and Gail Marshall.
